Day 2 - Heddon on the Wall to Chollerford 15.2 miles   Another fine day, and following a satisfying breakfast we bade farewell to Wylam and theBistro en Glaze and  backtracked to our route which took us towards Heddon-on-the-Wall and a rare sight - a section of the wall. This was  the first substantial section we had seen since Wallsend, and little did we know that our next site of it would be some  20miles ahead. The walk today was to rank as one of the most boring sections of any walk  that we had undertaken, and comprised of walking mainly in a Roman ditch  alongside a quite straight road with nothing but fields and farms surrounding  us. We were grateful for the highlight of the day some 7 miles into today's  distance, which was a caravan café atop Harlow Hill where we paused for a  welcome cuppa, followed byviewing the varied birdlife around the reservoirs  close-by. More boring walking eventually brought us to our next stopover at Chollerford  - or The Crown Inn at Humshaugh to be more specific. We were now to follow  one of walkings most boring days with a stopover at one of the most uninspiring, user unfriendly places that we had  used on any of our walks. This was surely history in the making for our band of walkers and I would recommend future  walkers to steer well clear of this establishment! At this point with my impending health problem gathering pace, I elected not to walk the next day, and to take the  Hadrian's Wall bus to our next stopover at Steel Rigg.   Day 2 - Heddon on the Wall to Chollerford
