After breakfast Barbara’s husband Jim from Newlands House, returned us to Clay Bank from where we had been
collected. The weather was cloudy and promised rain, but as the day progressed it brightened up and all we had was the
ever present biting wind. After the slight pull up to Urra Moor the walking was very pleasant, and along the way Graham
insisted in taking a photo of Fat Betty. Unusually, today we didn’t come across anyone doing the C2C. We stopped for
lunch at the Lion Inn and then proceeded to Glaisedale and Ashley House where we were warmly greeted by John and
Margaret and treated to tea toasted teacakes and biscuits.
That evening we dined in the Arcliffe Arms, where it transpired Lisa was staying along with Masie. We enjoyed a long
chat with her prior to retiring, and were all looking forward to the final day.
